The 10 Best Fishing Rigs

Updated February 13, 2019 by Sam Kraft

This wiki has been updated 16 times since it was first published in February of 2019. As a child, fishing always seemed as simple as some line strung through a pole with a bobber attached in the middle and a hook with a night crawler dangling from it at the end. Once you become a more serious angler, however, you discover that consistently catching a decent amount of bass, trout, walleye and pike may require some of these more sophisticated rigs. Editor's Notes

February 08, 2019:

The Ilure Alabama Umbrella and Bullet Weights Perch are particularly interesting models in that they consist of multiple hooks, which means the angler can theoretically catch multiple fish on a single cast. Did some research on the JSHANMEI Sabiki Baits, but came across several reports of weak hooks falling off, so I omitted those from the list. Despite their inability to attract large fish, included the Daoud Sabiki because of their effectiveness with small species.
