This wiki has been updated 23 times since it was first published in January of 2017. The rule may say you should never look better than the bride, but you might get away with bending that rule a touch for the flower girl. We've gathered some adorable dresses that will make any little one the co-star of the day, and which are comfortable enough for her to play in at the reception. When users buy our independently chosen editorial choices, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Badgley Mischka Lace Peplum Dress Though not a budget item, this dress from one of the world's top designers embodies timeless elegance and has youthful details that are perfect for a young lady in a wedding party. It has a tulle skirt that's just the right length for dance and play, as well as a beaded band around the waist. Plus, its peplum has lovely lace and is accented with pearls at its longest points. badgleymischka.com

The Dessy Long Chiffon Boasting lightweight, flowy chiffon and either a romantic floral print or a solid pastel color, this dress is extremely feminine and ready for summer. Its ruffled sleeves and pleated fabric add dramatic flare, and a sash-wrapped waist makes it easy to fit to size. It's on the pricier side, but the fact that it's so comfortable it'll keep a child happy for hours makes it worth it. dessy.com

Editor's Notes

July 24, 2019:

Unlike adults, children won't suffer for beauty, which is why we looked for dresses that are built for comfort and play. For example, the Bow Dream Rustic Baptism has capped sleeves that won't restrict arm movements, as well as a soft cotton lining that won't irritate the skin. Meanwhile, the April Girl Lace has a nice loose frock shape, so kids will feel free run, play, and dance to their heart's content. Also, the Miss Bei Backless has a ballet-like skirt that will inspire a cutie to bust a move, and is a good short length so it won't drag on the floor.

We also know that when a wedding has a strong theme it's important that every element, from the chairs to the personalized signs and certainly the bridal party outfits match it. So we included dresses with popular themes in mind. We have some princess-style choices, like the Colorful House Trailing and the CrunchyCucumber Sequined Bodice, as well as some more retro and casual looks, like the April Girl Lace and the Bow Dream Rustic Baptism. We also included one style that is intentionally simple in the Ekidsbridal 829S so it should easily complement the bridesmaids.

As for brides who like their little flower girls to nearly match them, there is the Abaowedding Pageant and the Ann and Grace Lace and Tulle. These white and off-white options are almost like miniature wedding dresses and are sure to turn heads.
