The 8 Best Garden Hose Splitters

Updated February 24, 2021 by Brett Dvoretz

This wiki has been updated 29 times since it was first published in February of 2017. If you'd like to connect multiple hoses, sprinkler lines, or drip irrigation systems to a single spigot, you're going to need one of these splitters. We've included models that resist leaks and corrosion, and that will provide full water pressure, even when you have every valve wide open. They are available with two to four connection points, allowing for plenty of versatility. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. If you'd like to contribute your own research to Ezvid Wiki, please get started by reviewing this introductory video.

Editor's Notes

February 20, 2021:

We had to make a lot of changes to the our recommendations during this update due to availability issues. We also decided to remove any models that were too similar to one another and just kept the one that functioned most reliably. It was with this latter priority in mind that we eliminated the Leaf HD Rubberized, Ikris 2 Way, and Glorden Brass. The Leaf and Ikris models are essentially the same as the 2wayz 161-M-1, and the Glorden is nearly the same as the Twinkle Star 4-Way. That being said, the latter does feature an oversized plastic connector that is more comfortable to grab with bare hands, includes thread seal tape, and comes for a more affordable price.

Speaking of price, though expensive, the Dramm Twin Shut Off seems to have the sturdiest build, so the chances of it ever failing are slim. Plus, its strong brass connector is compatible with wrenches, which some may prefer to use when tightening it onto a spigot. The Melnor 65029 is a new addition this year, and while we do wish it was a bit more robust, the benefits of the oversized flip levers make it worth considering, especially for those with limited finger strength.

April 04, 2019:

Although garden hose splitters must be durable, we also think they should be easy enough for anyone to use, including those with hand problems, so we selected those that largely meet this criteria. We added the Dramm Twin Shut Off as a top choice, as it's easy to both attach and operate, featuring handles that are just a touch longer than most for better grip. It's also constructed from quality brass, which does make it more expensive than many. Nonetheless, if you'd like something for the long haul, it's the one to consider. We decided to keep the Leaf HD Rubberized and Ikris 2 Way as alternatives, although they simply do not have the lasting power of the Dramm model. Of course, they're not as expensive, so consider them for casual homeowner use. As for 4-way models, we added those from Philonext and Dr Garden. Use them with one, two, three, or four hoses — whatever your landscaping work demands.
