In this update, we replaced some of the items to ensure that each complies with law label standards, which require that any comforter labeled as “white goose down” contains at least 75% white goose down filler. The Down Under Jasper Hutterite is manufactured in Canada by a certified member of the country’s Down Association, which ensures quality bedding products. It’s available in a full range of sizes, including California king, and its outer shell is 100% cotton with a 500 thread count. It holds it shape well and can be placed outside occasionally during nice weather to air it out and refresh the contents.
For a hypoallergenic choice that won’t keep you up sneezing all night, look to the Hotel Collection UltraClean, which features an attractive geometric jacquard fabric with handy corner duvet tabs. This one features 700 fill power and is conveniently machine washable, unlike many others. From a bedding company founded in 1975, the Downright Cascada is made by hand in Brooklyn, New York, with soft, premium down of European geese. It’s naturally insulating and features baffle box construction. A higher fill count option from the same manufacturer is the Siberian white goose down Downright Logana. Both of these choices are responsibly sourced, meaning there is no live plucking or force feeding of the geese involved.
The final new addition is the Blue Ridge Hotel Grand Naples which, like some others on the list, features a baffle box construction which ensures the contents are evenly distributed via pockets throughout, to ensure there aren’t any cold spots. Its filler will stay intact, thanks to its double piping construction.

A goose down comforter is sure to provide a warm, cozy night’s rest, and many are made with a hypoallergenic, cotton outer shell that keeps itching and sneezing at bay. Some even come with loops that make them easy to insert into a duvet cover.
Coming on board in today’s update is the Downlite European Luxury, which features baffle box construction, meaning fabric strips are sewn between the top and bottom covers. This creates multiple sections throughout, which evenly distributes the fill and allows it to reach its full loft. While it needs to be dry-cleaned, rest assured you should only have to have this done once every few years if you keep it inside of a duvet cover.
Retaining the top spot in our selection is the Egyptian Bedding Luxurious, with pockets that are packed with ample amounts of down, for warmth and loft that are hard to match. This one too can be anchored to a duvet cover, thanks to sewn-in loops. It’s attractively priced, compared to many others, and is made from Long Staple Giza Cotton, which has been grown in the lush Nile River Valley since the time of the Pharoahs.
