This wiki has been updated 16 times since it was first published in October of 2019. When you're working up a sweat hiking, biking, or running, the last thing you want is to worry about having enough water. That's why you need one of these hydration bladders. They make it a breeze to tote plenty of refreshing liquid to keep you going, which you access by way of a tube for convenience. We've selected both large and small models to cover all kinds of trips. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

November 01, 2019:

Hydration bladders look simple, but they do vary quite a bit in features, so we've looked for a range to accommodate various users. Those who want a lot of usability rolled into one neat package will probably like the Platypus Big Zip Evo. The self-sealing valve is no trouble to use, and it has a pincher grip that you can fill with one hand. At the opposite end of the spectrum is the Deuter Streamer 2.0; it's designed to be completely usable, but it remains relatively uncomplicated, making it great for those who seek simplicity. The Wacool 3 Liter is a budget alternative to both of these, but it doesn't provide quite the same level of rugged durability.

We'd also like to note that we've opted not to focus on models that come with hydration packs. Most of our choices will fit in a wide range of packs, with the exception of the Osprey Hydraulics 1.5 Liter, which is designed for lumbar-style models only. We did choose one adapter system, however, the CamelBak Eddy Adapter, which provides a bladder alternative. Its hose is 28 inches long, which some consider to be too short, although this is largely down to personal preference.
