The 10 Best Kid's Wheelies Shoes
Editor's Notes
December 16, 2020:
Firstly, as with roller skates, skateboards, or other wheeled items, it is vital that when rolling around on wheelies your youngster is outfitted with the proper safety gear, including helmets and elbow and knees pads. Also, to reiterate what was mentioned in our previous update, it's not recommended to walk in these shoes with the wheels out for prolonged periods of time, as doctors suggest that this could have a negative impact on a child's gait.
For kids that like their shoes to light up, we chose to retain the Nsasy Roller and the Ufatansy Skate as they are modestly priced and have a wide selection of designs; this subsequently resulted in us dropping the Aikuass Chargeable to reduce the amount of overlap and allow room for more varied choices. One thing to bear in mind is that both of the brands we kept offer single- and double-wheel options, so buyers must ensure that they check the specifications of the shoes they've selected before purchasing. Another great LED option is the Ehauuo Unisex, which we switched in for our former Ehauuo recommendation due to the fact that the previous version wasn't rechargeable, a feature that our new addition has incorporated.
Leading the market in wheeled sneakers, Heelys has managed to grab six of our positions this time around. Although generally more expensive than other brands, the quality of the shoes and the trendy modern styles go some way to justifying their price tag. There's a range of materials to choose from: the Heelys Hustle, the Heelys GR8R Hi Tennis, and the Heelys Pro 20 Prints all boast a tough canvas construction; the Heelys Propel 2.0 has a soft nubuck touch; while the Heelys Dual Up X2 are a great leather selection that also sport two wheels in each shoe.

Wheelie shoes are not just fun for children, but a great way for them to get in some healthy exercise, as well. Plus, they should help them expend a bit of that seemingly never-ending supply of energy, so hopefully they will be a little calmer when they get home. As with any wheeled item though, it is important that you take proper safety precautions, which includes making sure your kids are wearing helmets and protective knee and elbow pads. Also, doctors recommend children don't walk in them with the wheels deployed for long periods of time, as this could potentially negatively affect their gait.
Generally, if you want your child to really love their new pair of wheelie shoes, you should do your best to get them a style that appeals to their personal taste. If you have children who like the look of skater shoes, you should consider the Heelys Launch, Heelys Dual Up X2, and Heelys Propel 2.0. However, if you think the classic sneaker design will be more appealing to your youngsters, you should check out the Heelys Force, Aikuass Chargable, Ufatansy Uforme, Nsasy Roller, and SDSpeed E-Roller. The Heelys GR8R Hi Tennis is a great retro high-top model, while the Ehauuo Unisex are best for kids who have a bit of flair for the fantastic.
Another thing to consider before making your purchase is the number and placement of the wheels. The Heelys Dual Up X2, Aikuass Chargable, Ufatansy Uforme, Nsasy Roller all either come standard, or are available in, two-wheel models. However the Heelys Dual Up X2 distinguishes itself by placing both of the wheels in the heel. All of the rest of the models on our list have the classic design with a single wheel placed near the rear of the sole.
