Editor's Notes

July 27, 2020:

In today’s update, the Host Insulated Cups join the list. This set of two practical plastic vessels can be placed in the freezer for a couple of hours and taken out when you’re ready to pour an icy cold beverage that will stay cool for a long while, without the need for ice. This is thanks to their proprietary cooling gel and double-walled insulation. They feature silicone bands to keep your hands warm and comfortable. These are a good choice for outdoor entertaining, and they’re well suited for use with all sorts of classic cocktails like manhattans, cosmopolitans, or a gin and vodka martini. They can hold up to nine ounces in total. They replace the stemless Rona Slovakia, which are no longer available at this time. For more practical, backyard-friendly options, check out the RSVP Endurance and the Moscoff Copper, which are made of durable, yet handsomely polished, steel and copper, respectively.

For an elegant, yet playful, selection, look to the Mikasa Cheers. You won’t need to provide your guests with glass charms, since no two in this set look alike. They’re etched with fun horizontal and vertical stripes, as well as swirly lines and polka dots. For a set that's traditional and sophisticated, check out the Lenox Tuscany, which are tall, yet well balanced with rims that flare slightly at the top and make them comfortable to drink from. Remaining in the top spot on our list is the Riedel Vinum, which is crafted in Bavaria by a family of glassmakers that has been making martini glasses, wine glasses, and wine decanters for more than two centuries. This set of two is made from genuine, elegant lead crystal that glistens and shines, and each can hold nearly five ounces, the classic martini size.

For a trendier, less traditional choice, consider the JoyJolt Carre, which feature a distinctive square shape that’s not only stylish, but also makes them difficult to tip over. They’re hand-made by artisans and backed by a one-year satisfaction guarantee. Their luxurious packaging makes them a nice wedding or housewarming gift.

Replaced items that were no longer available. Removed the Camco 43901 and Host Freeze Cooling Cups due to multiple reports of them cracking easily. Added the JoyJolt Carre for their unique shape and the fact that they're very difficult to break, making them ideal for those who are a bit clumsy or have children. The RSVP Endurance and Snowfox Stainless Steel are great for camping and outdoor parties, while the Mikasa Cheers and Lenox Tuscany are better suited for a traditional happy hour or dinner party with friends.
