This wiki has been updated 26 times since it was first published in December of 2017. If your job involves depicting complicated concepts to large groups of people, a whiteboard can be your best friend. That being said, if your work also requires you to move around often — either from city to city or room to room — you'll need one of these mobile options to make your life easier. They come in several shapes and sizes to suit everyone from teachers to corporate types. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Uline Glass The Uline Glass lives up to its name by offering double-sided sleek tempered glass; this makes it not only handsome but also durable, no matter how much you write on it. OptiMA OptiPrint Whether you need to keep track of goals, sales, or grades, the OptiMA OptiPrint will give you precisely what you need. That's because you can add your own print to one or both sides, making this an easily customizable choice, but as you might imagine, it isn't exactly cheap. mywhiteboards.com

Quartet 3-in-1 The Quartet 3-in-1 functions just as well as a display surface as it does a whiteboard or easel, as it has three rows of shelving on its back side that can accommodate fliers, brochures, and more. The writing surface itself is lightly printed with a handy grid, while the base panel is translucent for fitting seamlessly into any contemporary office. quartet.com

Editor's Notes

May 10, 2020:

At this time, we've opted to keep mobile whiteboards in a range of shapes and sizes, so they are appropriate for use in all settings: home business, open-plan office, classroom, and more. We removed the Best-Rite Platinum, which is perhaps too pricey given its overall quality; for the size, we like the Creative Space Standing. At 4 feet by 3 feet, it's large enough for most average office and classroom tasks, and it comes with a range of accessories, so you can get started using it immediately. If this isn't large enough, the Viz-Pro Magnetic or the Kamelleo Reversible might fit the bill. They're both offered in a range of sizes, with the latter going all the way up to 94 by 46 inches — more than enough space even for complicated projects and equations.

Those who often work with flip charts might consider the Viz-Pro Eco or the Maxtek Easel. They're both sized to make paper presentations a breeze, and the latter even comes with a 25-sheet pad to get you started. Finally, at the opposite end of the size spectrum, we elected to add one diminutive double sided whiteboard, the OUSL Desktop. At just over 16 inches long and 12 inches tall, it's compact and portable, but it provides enough space for working out homework problems, practicing writing, or playing games. It's appropriate for kids' use thanks to wrapped corners with no sharp edges, but it's a little pricey given the size. On the plus side, it comes with four handy magnets.
