Editor's Notes
September 03, 2020:
When selecting our oversized recliners, we looked for durable materials, features that enhance the relaxation experience, and a range of styles to complement a variety of decor.
In keeping with the spirit of the product category, we made quite a few eliminations during this update, as several older selections aren't quite wide enough to qualify as oversized. On that note, we removed the Catnapper Teddy Bear Inch-A-Way, the RevoluXion Mason Rocker, the Simmons Shiloh, and the Harper&Bright Designs Wilshire Series as they are too narrow. You'll find all of our current items are at least 45 inches wide. In fact, the Divano Roma Furniture Classic Loveseat 2-Seater is a generous 56 inches wide, and the Ashley Austere is 55.
We know that the action of pulling a lever can be troublesome for some, especially those with arthritis or mobility issues. For that reason, we added the Ashley Austere, which is available in push-button power recline model. It took the place of the Ashley Toletta, which also had power recline, but didn't have as attractive of an aesthetic. Providing options for those who want to experience the luxury of a large recliner, but don't have much floor space, was also important, which is another reason the Ashley Austere caught our attention. Its zero-wall design means you only need to position it a few inches away from a wall, in order to get the full experience.
Including both modern and classic styles was a priority. That being said, the Coaster Macpherson looks too dated, so we eliminated it. In its place, we added the Lane Home Furnishings Cuddler, which looks timeless but fresh. For those who prefer something more minimalistic, there is the Christopher Knight Home Halima and the Christopher Knight Home Calliope Loveseat. Their clean and simple designs should look nice next to many different sofas, ottomans, and other living room furniture.
