The 10 Best Pocket Drones
Editor's Notes
October 14, 2020:
Drone technology continues to advance, with ever more powerful motors, batteries, cameras, and AI modules available in miniature quadcopters, and our updated list reflects this progress. We substituted the DJI Mavic Air 2 for the original Mavic Air, in recognition of its improved image quality and stabilization features, as well as a flight time unparalleled in its class. We also replaced the Spark, a mid-sized drone from the same company, with the more lightweight, compact, and portable DJI Mavic Mini.
Another new addition is the Parrot PF728000 Anafi, which sports an excellent zoom function and an innovative swiveling camera capable of scanning a wide vertical range; this copter would be a strong contender for the market leader if not for its high price point and lack of obstacle detection. We took the Kolibri Torpedo off the list due to some issues customers raised with its durability, replacing it with the sturdy and inexpensive Holy Stone HS450 Mini. We also added the Emax Tinyhawk 2 RTF Kit, a starter package for those interested in first-person racing, built around a speedy bite-sized flyer.
