Editor's Notes

January 14, 2021:

It had been a while since we last visited this category so it was due for a shake up. In fact, we replaced nearly every single item with more modern options. These days it almost seems silly not to have an alarm clock that serves multiple purposes, so, in addition to being able to play the radio, we wanted to include models that offered some great extra features. For example, the Anker Soundcore Wakey, Anjank Wood Finish, Emerson ER100202, and i-Box Glow all have wireless charging pads for your phone, and the Philips SmartSleep HF3670 and iHome iBT297 have wake-up lights. And, while not a traditional alarm clock, we have included the Amazon Echo Dot 4, which functions as one, but also offers all the other smart home and personal assistant features of all of their connected devices.

November 16, 2018:

Added the Philips Wake-Up for its innovative sunrise simulation and cool-touch design, making it adult and kid-friendly. The IHome IBT29 can cycle through several colors and also allow for hands-free calling with its built-in mic. Both the Homedics SoundSpa and MPow LED are capable of projecting the time onto the wall or ceiling. Also included the Thpoplete Digital because of its multifunctional design and large, scratch-resistant display.
