The 10 Best Ray-Ban Sunglasses For Men

Updated November 29, 2020 by Luke Mitchell

This wiki has been updated 21 times since it was first published in August of 2018. Ray-Ban is one of the most celebrated names in the sunglasses market, and this Italian/American company has been making high-quality, stylish shades since 1936. Countless characters in popular films have sported a pair, from Robert de Niro in "Taxi Driver" to Tim Roth in "Reservoir Dogs." We've rounded up enough variety in men's designs that you'll probably struggle to pick just one. When users buy our independently chosen editorial recommendations, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

November 24, 2020:

For our latest update, we switched the RB3364 Rectangular for the more traditional Original Wayfarer model. These were reissued in the late 2000s after a number of fashion models and celebrities began sporting pairs, and online searches for vintage frames skyrocketed. Having been in production since 1956, they certainly deserve a place on our list, as well as in the history books, due to their iconic style and universal appeal.

We also replaced the somewhat dated RB3548N Flat with the more modern-looking RB4331 Square. Aside from their contemporary allure, these bring some diversity to the ranking, as they are a good choice for sports and other outdoor recreational activities, like fishing, with their slightly wraparound profile and lightweight plastic construction.

Finally, we chose to add the RB2190 Jeffrey to our ranking, as this recent addition to the range reflects the brand's progressive nature by taking a classic shape and adding modern touches, which include rounded edges and wider temple arms. Thanks to a choice of six lively colors, gradient lenses, and optional tortoiseshell or plaid detailing, you can easily find a pair to suit your own individual taste.

October 16, 2019:

Unlike other men's designer sunglasses, Ray-Ban offers simple, iconic shapes that are subtle and never flashy or ostentatious. Ray-Ban has also perfected the art of instilling barely-there masculine touches into unisex designs, which makes its products all the more versatile.

Our latest update included a few changes. We removed the Rectangle 3478 due to evolving tastes and complaints regarding durability, and supplanted them with the RB3364 Rectangular, which we feel make a better choice style and construction-wise. Because the Clubmaster Square and the Clubround RB4346 are relatively similar with a few design variations between them, we decided to add the New Wayfarer in the Clubround's place. This updated take on the classic wayfarer style is perfect for those who feel the old design was bulky-looking or oversized on their faces.

We wanted to ensure this list had a hefty dose of the classics since they never go out of style, which is why you'll find the Aviator Classic, Clubmaster Square, and Predator 2 in the top spots. That being said, individual tastes run the gamut, and so we included something for the sporty (RB3364 Rectangular, RB3183 Metal), the uber-stylish (RB3548N Flat), those who love 1960s counterculture (the Round Metal were inspired by eyewear worn by musicians and artists from that decade), and outdoor types (Outdoorsman II).
