Editor's Notes

February 26, 2019:

Much of this category is occupied by routers designed for gaming, as these tend to offer the most comprehensive settings control, as well as multiple antennas and breakneck speeds. Many, like the Linksys WRT, offer pages on their dashboards for device prioritization, and while the ad copy for the router often cites priority for consoles or PC gaming, it's just as easy to select video streaming as a primary target for bandwidth. There are also some great mesh devices available, such as the Gryphon and Netgear Orbi models, and these are probably better for bigger spaces with few-to-no gamers in residence.
