If you want your horn to last for many years, having a protective bag or case is necessary. Deciding between a soft bag or a hard case depends on a few factors. The benefits of a soft bag include a more stream-lined design, which can save on space. Soft cases are padded to protect the horn, and many, such as the Protec Rectangular PB301, include a hard, inner shell for even more protection. The shoulder straps let you throw the bag over your shoulder for easy transport, even if you have other things in your hands.

Hard cases, like the Gator GC-Trumpet, provide the most ample protection because the horns are shielded from all sides at all times.
