The LG W6 Wallpaper leads, with a panel under a centimeter thick. It's the true successor to the old LG WX, while the LG CX and LG GX live on as newer C and G models. Every TV on the old list was a 2019 or 2020 model, and all of them are gone or replaced, so this is a fresh start.
We kept to 2026 models. That ruled out some excellent 2025 sets that are still around, so we name them in the guide instead. The rest of the list covers the ways people actually shop for a thin TV: a mainstream OLED in the LG C6, art-style sets like the Hisense S7 CanvasTV that hang flat out of the box, a small Sony Bravia 6 OLED for tight rooms, a 75-inch TCL and a budget iFFALCON F75.
One honest note: thin doesn't buy you a better picture, and the slimmest sets tend to have the weakest speakers.

While OLED technology is still pretty expensive, there's no denying that it's the source of the majority of slim televisions on the market, as its self-illuminating diodes don't need those extra layers for a backlight array. There's still a need for speakers, inputs, and circuitry, however, which can result in TVs with incredible image quality that still measure too thick for many users.
In updating our list, we took a look at the latest releases from the top brands on the market, and held them to stringent standards, excluding any model measuring more than three inches deep. Some models came pretty close to that threshold, like the Samsung TU-8000, which, to be fair, isn't an OLED offering, making it an excellent choice for anyone on a budget who still wants something incredibly thin.
Others are almost too thin to believe, like the Samsung Q900T, which is an absurdly expensive QLED 8K option. Then there's the LG WX 65, which measures just 0.15 inches deep. It's an OLED model, but that doesn't account for its thinness alone. That's because LG took all that other hardware — the inputs, speakers, etc. — and separated them from the panel itself, connecting them by way of a high-quality soundbar that comes with the TV. Is it cheating to just remove all that for the sake of thinness? We don't think so, especially since so many people would opt for a soundbar as their primary speaker, or at least a source of the center channel in a 5.1 setup.

If you're looking for the slimmest TV you can find, we've got you covered. Pretty much everything on our list right now is two inches thick or less at its thickest point. The only one that exceeds that is the Hisense H9e Plus, which is about 54 millimeters thick on the bottom. Sony's X930E is a bit more costly, but it has the quality you'd expect from the Japanese entertainment giant.
If you're okay with dropping a huge chunk of change, the Hisense laser projector is an awesome device that comes with a relatively high-quality sound system. Alternately, the Samsung Q900 is an 8K display, and while there aren't many movies out that can take full advantage of it, you can trust that it's extremely future-proof. But the LG W9 takes home the title of "slimmest TV", as both commonly available models are only 4 and 6 millimeters thick, excluding the external box that does allt he processing and houses a pair of speakers. Sony's A9G is a bit cheaper than all three of those and leverages a number of advanced technologies to deliver a super-rich OLED picture as well.
Closer to most people's budgets, LG's C9 is their most popular OLED model, and one of the top TVs on the market today. But you simply can't ignore Samsung's thinnest models. The Q90 is their most recent flagship, and it's a truly excellent TV, although some feel that it's inferior to the Q9FN from the year before. That particular top-of-the-line release is the most balanced, as it's surprisingly affordable, and is exactly one inch thick, no matter where on the unit you measure. Finally, The Frame by Samsung is a very interesting choice that streamlines the entertainment experience by turning your living room into an art gallery. Guests and family members will be impressed when the priceless Rembrandt on your wall turns into The Avengers in 4K at the touch of a button.

What Thin Really Measures

Thickness figures mix up three different things. The first is the panel itself, the glass at the edge. LG lists the W6 Wallpaper at 9.9 millimeters there. The third is the depth on its stand, usually 7 to 15 inches, which says nothing about how far the TV sticks out from a wall.
For scale, an average 50-inch TV in 2026 is about 3.2 inches thick (BGR). OLED is the only type that gets under an inch, because it has no backlight layer. LED and Mini LED sets reach 1.1 to 1.6 inches only as art or picture-frame designs, such as the Hisense S7 CanvasTV, which Consumer Reports lists at 1.2 inches.
Searches for a thin 32-inch TV come up short. Budget 32-inch sets are 2 to 3 inches deep, and no maker sells a slim design in that size. The smallest thin TV here is a 48-inch OLED, about 40 millimeters deep.
Hanging It Flat: Mounts, Gaps And Boxes
A thin TV only looks thin on the wall if the mount lets it sit close. The LG W6, Hisense S7 CanvasTV and iFFALCON F75 include flush mounts. Even so, LG notes that a slight gap may remain with its supplied mount. Many other sets, including the LG C6, ship with a stand only, and a standard tilting bracket holds the screen farther from the wall than a flat one. Match the bracket to the TV's VESA hole pattern and its weight, and fix it into studs.
The thinnest designs move the inputs into a separate box. The W6's Zero Connect box sends picture and sound wirelessly from up to about 30 feet away (New Atlas), and Samsung's One Connect box does a similar job over a thin cable. Either way, the screen still needs a power cord, so plan where the outlet goes before you drill.
If the TV stays on furniture, anchor it. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission counted 217 tip-over deaths from 2013 through mid-2023, and nearly half involved a TV (CPSC report). Its Anchor It campaign explains how to strap a TV and stand to the wall.
Picture, Sound And Care
Thin doesn't mean a better picture. OLED gets its slim body for free and adds true blacks. Art-style LED sets trade some contrast for the frame look and matte screen, which What Hi-Fi noted when it reviewed Hisense's 2024 CanvasTV. Thin bodies leave little room for speakers, too. What Hi-Fi called the sound of LG's G5 dull and found Samsung's S95F distorts at high volume (What Hi-Fi). Plan on a soundbar for movies.
OLED can burn in. In a long-running torture test, RTINGS found newer OLEDs weren't clearly more resistant than older ones, because they run brighter. Mixed viewing is fine. Hours of the same news ticker, game display or PC desktop is the risk, so leave the panel's care features on. LG backs its OLED panels with a five-year limited warranty, with parts and labor covered only in the first year.
The 2025 versions of several slim sets are still sold and often discounted: the LG G5 (24.3 millimeters, flush mount included), the Samsung S95F (about 11 millimeters), the Sony Bravia 8 II and the LG C5. They aren't ranked here because newer models replaced them, but they remain strong choices if the price is right.
How we researched this
We compared 15 current slim TVs and the 9 models on the old list, read makers' product pages and dimension sheets, Consumer Reports listings, lab and review coverage from RTINGS, What Hi-Fi and others, and owner feedback, and checked every brand for recalls with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. We found no lab tests yet for several 2026 models and say so where it applies. The 3D models are built from published dimensions.
