The 10 Best Underbed Shoe Organizers

Updated May 27, 2020 by Brett Dvoretz

This wiki has been updated 24 times since it was first published in January of 2018. Footwear can take up a lot of room, and many types are only worn for a few months out of the year. These underbed shoe organizers are the perfect solution to free up extra closet space when your sandals or boots are out of season and can be hidden out of sight. They have handles to help you pull them out when you're ready to access your gear, and some boast customizable compartments. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Lands' End Canvas Under Bed Storage The Lands' End Canvas Under Bed Storage is made with its tough namesake material and has a polyester lining that's easy to wipe clean. It's available in two color combinations of natural and navy or natural and khaki, and it can be monogrammed, which makes it a nice gift option. landsend.com

Pottery Barn Teen Black Underbed Denim Storage Bin Made with its namesake material on the outside and a polyester and cotton blend on the inside, the Pottery Barn Teen Black Underbed Denim Storage Bin has a trendy aesthetic that teenagers may like, and should hold up to plenty of use. Its lid can either fold back or come off entirely, and its riveted handles are quite durable. At seven inches tall, it's deep enough to accommodate larger shoes but still slender enough to slide under most beds. pbteen.com

Editor's Notes

May 22, 2020:

In creating our list, we thought of features that would make underbed shoe storage accessories versatile, as well as long-lasting and easy to use. On the durability front, we like the Smart Design 5532334, because its sides and bottom have been reinforced. The iWill Create Pro Cube also caught our attention with its strong baseboard. However, on that note, we eliminated the Aomeiqi Adjustable, as its build was not durable to stand up to much use, and the Richards Homewares Clear Vinyl, due to similar longevity issues.

While we appreciate organizers that can be collapsed for storage when not in use, we didn't want to keep any items that collapse on their own. For that reason, we removed the SamiTime Extra Large, which struggled to maintain its shape when not full. The SamiTime Boot faced structural problems, too, with dividers that tend to flop over, so it's also gone. Meanwhile, the Zober Store Customizable snagged a place because it has firm dividers that can be adjusted and removed, and holds its shape well. We also added the Karson Roungee Reinforced because we like the plastic inserts that hold up its sides.

Being able to easily slide these items in and out from under a bed is important. With that in mind, the Richards Homewares Gearbox lost its spot because it did not fit that requirement. In its place came the MuseHomeInc Bedroom Solid Drawer and the WorldGoodsCorp 4-Pack, both of which conveniently roll on wheels.

We also wanted to include something for boots, as this footwear can be very hard to store, so we added the Whitmor Clear Vue, WorldGoodsCorp 4-Pack, and MuseHomeInc Bedroom Solid Drawer, with their elongated builds and single compartments. The Zober Store Customizable and Smart Design 5532334 also work for tall boots, with their removable dividers.
