The 10 Best Wax Warmers

Updated February 21, 2020 by Christopher Thomas

This wiki has been updated 18 times since it was first published in October of 2019. Wax warmers provide a wonderful means to improve interior environments without involving the open flames or embers candles and incense require. Some models are better designed than others, though, with the worst so poorly manufactured they constitute a fire hazard. Fortunately, the following will help you find the best and safest fit for your home or business premises. When users buy our independently chosen editorial choices, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

February 19, 2020:

Before we begin, a crash course on wax warmer safety:

Now that you’ve found a tried and true warmer than hasn’t been subject to factory recall because it spontaneously bursts into flames—and you have also purchased wax that is nontoxic and won’t hurt your eyes, skin, or respiratory system in any way—it’s time to go over some standard operating considerations. First, only plug the device into the right sort of outlet with regards to wattage, plug type, voltage, and so on. Only use the AC adaptor that comes with it and always buy and insert the appropriate replacement bulb type. Next, be sure to keep its cord safe, secure, and out of the way of any passersby, whether they are children, pets, or your usually-responsible-self. Moving forward, remember not to overload your wax warmer’s basin with too much wax. Only use as much as wax as instructions indicate and/or is necessary to achieve the potency you desire, otherwise you risk overflow which can lead to burns, messes, or worse, electrical shortages and their aftermath. Finally—and I say that without complete finality, because I am positive there are more things that could wrong with a wax warmer than I’m writing about here, so please remain ever-vigilant—make sure to unplug your unit and let the warm wax in it solidify before abruptly moving it and/or attempting to clean it. Actually, back to the ever-vigilant thing: We would strongly urge you not to let your wax warmer run unattended.

I’d say the most interesting thing about this category was how many single listings contained multiple designs in excess of five or more. What I mean is that, when you see a popular wax warmer listed, and then click on it, you arrive at many seemingly different models, but discover they’re all just varying facades masking more or less the same internal mechanisms. That being the case, in some sense, this top ten list is more like a top 50 to 100 when you count it out. In particular, the Candle Etc. 2-in-1 and Candle Etc. Freshener have over ten options each, while the Holsey's Cream Electric and Equsupro Fireworks stand alone. The manufacturers of the latter two do have similar models if you go looking for them, but I cannot verify with 100% surety that they are constructed exactly the same.
