Uline Mobile Cabinet Workbench If you're looking for something to use professionally you may find it worthwhile to spring for something made by a well known industrial supplier like Uline. This large cabinet is framed by thick heavy-duty steel, and unlike many other options all four of its large casters are lockable. This provides superior stability when using the wooden top as a workbench. uline.com

CB2 TPS 3-Drawer Filing Cabinet This filing cabinet from CB2 is a good choice for those who need something durable. It's primarily constructed from stainless steel with a high-quality powder-coat finish, and its rubberized casters provide a superior performance than the small plastic type frequently found on lower-end models. cb2.com

Editor's Notes

October 02, 2020:

Rolling cabinets are a great solution for when you need to maintain flexibility in a space, but they're also a good buy even when you don't intend to move them frequently since they're easy to install and non-destructive. For instance, if you're living in an apartment with a kitchen that's lacking storage and counterspace it's not really practical to install new permanent cabinets or countertops, but something like the Winsome Kitchen or Home Styles Liberty is a relatively affordable alternative that can simply be assembled and rolled to your desired location. Both options feature drawers and towel bars in addition to their roomy cabinets, and the Home Styles Liberty even has a drop leaf section that can be locked into place for use as a dining table. The Home Styles Create-a-Cart is a more expensive selection in this style that features a high-quality hardwood construction, and a real granite top that functions as a nice counter for chopping ingredients or using kitchen appliances like blenders and mixers.

If you're going to be storing tools rather than silverware and plates you may want something a little more durable. The Seville Classics UltraHD, Goplus Rolling Chest, and UltraHD Tall all feature sturdy metal frames and large, reliable casters. All of these options are great for use in a garage or workshop, and can be conveniently wheeled close to your current task so you can access your tools and supplies without frequently walking back and forth. These models are also better for professional environments in general, since their heavy-duty constructions provide superior longevity and damage resistance compared to something made of particle board.

Those simply looking to store some office supplies, files, or other odds and ends might prefer something a little more low profile like the Winsome Halifax, and if you require something smaller still the Aurora FC-103BL and Lorell 16873 both make good choices. Both of these options are small enough to fit under most desks, and their drawers can be used for either general storage or hanging file folders. The Shozafia Slim is similar in that it's designed for casual domestic use, but unlike the aforementioned choices it is specifically intended to slide into narrow spaces. This is ideal if you're trying to add storage to a room without much space to begin with, as it can slide between two existing pieces of furniture or between appliances such as a washer and dryer.
