Editor's Notes

October 17, 2019:

An ergonomic workstation not only facilitates comfort and efficiency, but with more and more studies emerging regarding the health risks related to constant sitting, it's also vital for your wellbeing if you work in an office. Along with standing desk mats and standing desk chairs, the ergonomic desks on this list are meant to allow you sit and stand as you please, keeping your body from languishing in one position for hours on end and increasing your productivity to boot.

When updating this list, we realized that while it was heavy on quality converters, it lacked full desk options outside of the Stand Up Desk Store. We remedied this by adding the ApexDesk Elite Series and Uplift V2 Adjustable, two premium choices that are made to last for years, and the Seville Classics Tilting, a portable, budget-friendly option that's ideal if you're a student or work in an office for the most part but work from home on select days.

Our priority was to provide a range of desks and converters in a variety of prices, styles, and sizes. We elevated models that use durable, high-quality parts, are easy to assemble, extremely sturdy, quiet (if electric), spacious without being overly bulky, and capable of reliably holding a lot of weight. After that, we concentrated on value for money, aesthetics, and warranties in case of defect or issue.

After arriving in Los Angeles a decade ago, she quickly nabbed a copywriting job at a major clothing company and derived years of editing and proofreading experience from her tenure there, all while sharpening her skills further with myriad freelance projects. In her spare time, she teaches herself French and Italian, has earned an ESL teaching certificate, traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States, and unashamedly devours television shows and books.
