Updated November 09, 2019 by Brett Dvoretz

This wiki has been updated 12 times since it was first published in October of 2019. Leather jackets have been a staple in any fashionable man's wardrobe since the 1950s, thanks, in part, to the influence of Hollywood movie stars. Though they often come with hefty price tags, the more budget-friendly options on this list, prove that just about any gentleman can afford to add one or two to his closet. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

October 31, 2019:

Leather jackets are a versatile item that pair well with with everything from jeans and a ripped t-shirt to a button-up shirt and dress slacks. A good one will conform to your figure over time, resulting in a coat that looks like it was made just for you. Because of these reasons, no man should be without one. Of course, we realize that not everybody has $1,000 of spare cash to buy one, which is why we put together this list of high-quality, yet budget-friendly options.

For those who like the classic biker-style jackets with lots of detailing, we have included the Harley-Davidson Master Biker. It has a no-nonsense design with angled zipper pockets, a button-down collar and epaulets, and some seriously cool graphics on the back. However, we don't recommend this model if you don't actually own a motorcycle, since it may look like you are trying a bit too hard.

If you prefer a more streamlined biker jacket, we have the cafe racer style Lucky Brand Bonneville and Harley-Davidson Double Ton Slim Fit. Once again, we recommend the Harley-Davidson coat for someone who actually owns a bike, especially since it sports the company's name in bright orange letters across the front and is made from a durable, waxy cowhide that some may find a bit stiff for casual wear. The Lucky Brand Bonneville, however, is ideal for someone who simply enjoys the edgy style of moto jackets.

Those who are looking for something a bit more conservative, will want to consider the Marc New York Slade Smooth, Cole Haan Smooth Collar, Blingsoul Blazer, and Perry Ellis Open Bottom, all of which are reserved enough for a casual work event or dinner with your significant other's family.

If you are one of the lucky ones for whom money is less of an issue, you may want to take a look at our other list of leather jackets for men, which includes some premium designer brands.
