The 10 Best Convertible Chair Beds
Special Honors
Stanton Drew Convertible Chair Available in 4 colors, this cute selection is somewhere between an oversized armchair and a small sofa. It features slender sides and armrests that don't add much to the total width, allowing users to take advantage of a fuller seat without taking up more space in the room. It serves as a great option to put your feet up and watch a movie with a partner, as you can extend the leg section and keep the backrest upright. wayfair.com

Picking a piece of convertible furniture is never any easy decision. There are many factors to consider, such as, in which room it will be placed, what function it will perform on a day-to-day basis, and who the most frequent overnight guests are. Apart from the obvious question of whether the chair/bed will physically fit in the room, there are other design aspects that make individual pieces better suited in different parts of the house.
For instance, the Waytrim Indoor Chaise Lounge and the Milliard Folding Twin XL are good selections for a den or a games room as they are both low lying and therefore they won’t look overbearing in a small space. Furthermore, being the lightest options on the list, they are easily carried to a larger room when you are hosting overnight guests, and they each pack away neatly for convenient storage.
Alternatively, the Stone & Beam Upholstered Sleeper and the Signature Sleep Devon Twin are larger, heavier selections that don’t look like they double as beds, making them well placed in a living room or family area. The former sports stain-resistant fabric, great if you have kids in the house, and the latter features a memory foam mattress and pocket coils in the seat cushions for extra comfort and durability.
If space is not a factor, you may find an alternative solution in a sofa bed. The majority of these selections will be larger than those listed here but can provide equal comfort.
