Roll20 Tabletop roll playing games depend completely upon community, which can be a simultaneous blessing and curse. Whether you're dealing with scheduling conflicts, social anxiety, or some other inhibiting issue, it's not always easy to make time and meet up with people for the long spans it takes to role play right. Fortunately, this website and others have created online platforms for tabletop gamers, making it possible to game traditionally at a computer in the comfort of your own home. You can even find or create games to play with strangers if your friends are being flaky. roll20.net
RPG Creators Relief Fund If you're a philanthropist in addition to a role player, you might consider dropping by this website. Donations from sponsors and individuals go to freelancers and other creators who make the games you love, but don't have adequate safety nets when it comes to hardships that interfere with their income. All of their financials are transparently provided and it's inspiring to see how much their fund raising has increased each year since their inception. rcrfcharity.org
Editor's Notes
May 13, 2020:
While dungeon master screens can add a lot to the immersive experience of role playing, don’t forget to stock up on essentials like dice, pencils, graphing paper, snacks, and all the other little bits that are easy to look over in the excitement of buying high-end merchandise. It’s almost always better to conceal your hand when facilitating a game, but you don’t really have a game until you have the basics. On the same note, having ample table space to play on and enough chairs can go along way with your players, so its worth looking into inexpensive options you can store away if you don't have enough already.
Unfortunately, a lot of dungeon master screens are designed too specifically to be used across a range of scenarios. This usually comes down to them being aesthetically genre-bound or dedicated to a particular game and/or a single edition of a game. An example of this would be screens like the Wizards RPG Team Reincarnated, Wizards RPG Team Accessory, and Dungeons & Dragons Complete Pack, which have interiors consigned completely to Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition. However, these models have still been included since D&D is the primarch of role playing games, and more people than not gravitate toward the current edition when playing. Elsewhere, there are models such as the Stratagem Tabletop Tome and Ugears Build Your Own which will mesh well with the wider range of role playing games out there and allow for customization.
