Editor's Notes

June 22, 2020:

In this update, we added in a couple of models that serve as bunk beds, making for convenient sleeping arrangements when you have multiple young overnight guests. The high-quality Montana Woodworks Glacier Country Bunk is made in Montana, as its name implies, and comes hand-signed by the artisan who crafted it. It features American-grown lodgepole pine, with a simple, yet durable, mortise and tenon style joinery. It’s also got sturdy steel hinges and sports built-in ladders on both ends for easy access. Three side rails on top provide safety, and a matching chair is sold separately, which can add to the rustic aesthetic. We also added the Night & Day Furniture Bunk, which accommodates a twin mattress on top and a full-sized one underneath, with two handy drawers on the bottom for blankets, books, etc. A four-rung ladder provides easy access to the upper level. These two models replace the Epic Furnishings Rocky Mountain and the Leggett & Platt Saturn, both of which are reportedly difficult to assemble.

We also rounded out the list by adding the Milemont Loveseat, an attractive faux leather option that’s sure to dress up your apartment or office. It can support up to 600 pounds, and features a stylish tufted design and a cushion made of memory foam. It’s a cinch to assemble and if you ever need to store it, a handy bottom compartment can hold the six legs and the hardware. For a choice that converts from a loveseat to a bed to a lounger, look to the KD Frames Lounger, which is sold in twin and full sizes. It incorporates a foldable footrest component, and is made from sturdy unfinished poplar hardwood. For a larger choice from the same manufacturer, the KD Frames Bifold can be converted into several positions that range from sitting upright to lying flat. It can be put together in no time and is backed by a generous five-year warranty. If you’re in the market for a larger sofa that can accommodate overnight guests, check out our list of the best sofa beds.
