The 8 Best Tabletop Air Hockey Games

Updated October 27, 2019 by Brett Dvoretz

This wiki has been updated 24 times since it was first published in March of 2018. Air hockey has been one of the most popular arcade games over the years for a reason: it’s action-packed, easy to play, and fun. Unfortunately, many of us don’t have enough room, or cash, for a bulky, full-sized model in our homes. With one of these tabletop versions, though, you and your kids can quickly set up and play on the living room floor, on the kitchen table, or on any other flat surface. When users buy our independently chosen editorial picks, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Editor's Notes

October 24, 2019:

While we may all wish we had a dedicated game room for ourselves or our children, this isn't a reality for most. Luckily, these tabletop air hockey games still allow you to keep a fun activity on hand, without requiring a dedicated place in your home. Consider adding a tabletop cornhole set as well, so you'll have a choice of games on hand.

We felt the need to replace quite a few models during this round of updates. Since we found more available options to choose from this year, we wound up eliminating the Yuebo Kids because we felt it was hard to gauge its true quality based on the lack of buyer reviews. We also removed the Carrom Game due to some reports of its puck traveling too slowly.

New additions this year include the Harvil 40-Inch, which is sturdy enough to withstand rambunctious kids and features a powerful blower that gives the puck a smooth and fast glide, as well as the Carrom Power Play, which closely resembles the gameplay you would find on full-sized models. We also added the Rally and Roar AWH040, which has a manual and electric scoring options.

We feel the Simtec PowerBand deserves a special mention for being the only model on the list that is length adjustable, allowing you to make it smaller for younger children. It is also somewhat unique in that it doesn't have its own playing surface. Instead it is just a border, and it comes with pucks that are designed to glide across carpet and hard surfaces, making it extremely lightweight and easy to move about the house.

He has been a professional chef, a dog trainer, and a travel correspondent for a well-known Southeast Asian guidebook. He also holds a business degree and has spent more time than he cares to admit in boring office jobs. His expertise, honed over years of experience, is in the areas of computers, electronics, travel gear, pet products, and kitchen, office and automotive equipment.
