Editor's Notes

April 24, 2019:

Board games aren't just for kids, and the options we've cultivated on this list, many of which are not safe for work, prove that. We realize they we have stretched the term board games a bit by including many items that don't actually have a board, but we feel confident that anyone looking for for activities to enjoy with their friends will find something to suit their tastes here. If raunchy is what you are looking for, then you'll definitely want to check out Cards Against Humanity, Adult Loaded Questions, and Hot Toys Inc. Sexxxtions. However, if you are interested in a game with a little more class, that you won't be concerned about playing with family members or coworkers, we recommend you consider Settlers of Catan, Spaceteam Cards, Secret Hitler, Geek Out, or Renegade Studios' Lanterns. These won't devolve into needless vulgarity, while still providing an entertaining activity for game night. Those who like strategy will find Settlers of Catan and Renegade Studios' Lanterns extremely enjoyable, and maybe even a little bit addictive.

A wandering writer who spends as much time on the road as in front of a laptop screen, Brett can either be found hacking away furiously at the keyboard or, perhaps, enjoying a whiskey and coke on some exotic beach, sometimes both simultaneously, usually with a four-legged companion by his side. He has been a professional chef, a dog trainer, and a travel correspondent for a well-known Southeast Asian guidebook. He also holds a business degree and has spent more time than he cares to admit in boring office jobs. He has an odd obsession for playing with the latest gadgets and working on motorcycles and old Jeeps. His expertise, honed over years of experience, is in the areas of computers, electronics, travel gear, pet products, and kitchen, office and automotive equipment.
