Editor's Notes

December 16, 2020:

We were able to extend the list of inflatable projection screen choices due to the increasing popularity of outdoor events that use them. There are now many more options available. Because the frames are all stitched and not 100% airtight, all of the screens featured need a blower operating constantly, and the latest models have upgraded, quieter units that make your movie easier to hear, with no background noise. Inflatable projection screens are superior to traditional outdoor cinema screens in many ways, not least for the value you get for larger sized units. They are also more durable.

We added the Fitnessandfun 25 for the strength of the material they use for the frame, which is better quality than other, more expensive options, and is a very recent addition to the market. The Seeutek 14 makes the list as a simple, hard-wearing model that is great for beginners. It is also small enough to use inside in bad weather. The Sewinfla 33 is large enough to host almost any event, and the machine-washable screen is a feature not shared by other inflatable cinemas on the list, although it could be considered rather pricey.

For an easy setup, the Khomo Gear Jumbo is a pretty good option. Five minutes to install or pack-up is impressive and it is a welcome addition. It is also capable of back-projection, which means unobstructed viewing for your audience. The Ozis 25 has one of the most powerful blowers on the list, and that, combined with the fact that the screen sits higher off the ground than older inflatable cinema kits for a better viewing angle, made it a simple choice. The Loch IWS 200 and the Gemmy HD39127-32 were dropped as they were older units where availability and quality was an issue.

If you want to bring the movie theater experience to your backyard or next block party, there is no better way to do so than with one of these inflatable projection screens. They come in a variety of sizes, so there is one to suit every audience. For those looking to entertain the maximum number of people, there is no better option than the 25-foot Loch IWS 200. While it does have some drawbacks, namely the weak anchor straps, those are easy and cheap enough to replace. The Open Air Cinema H16 will give you the best picture quality because of the included black backdrop, but you will pay dearly for this luxury. Still, if you have the cash to spare and want to ensure everybody has the best experience possible, it is definitely worth a second look. The Holiday Styling 600DD offers just the right balance of price, size, and quality for most users, which is why it took the number one spot. If you will often be screening Frozen, Minions, and Toy Store movies, then the pint-sized audience will definitely love the Gemmy Disney.
