The 10 Best Night Splints

Updated March 21, 2019 by Quincy Miller

This wiki has been updated 29 times since it was first published in February of 2017. If you suffer from plantar fasciitis, then you know how agonizing those first steps of the day can be. That's because while you sleep, the muscles and connective tissues in your feet and calves tighten up, which leads to searing pain when you get out of bed. A high-quality night splint, however, will keep the fascia and Achilles tendon stretched, so you can get out of bed without suffering. Editor's Notes

March 20, 2019:

Added the BTUP Adjustable due to complaints that other models were so rigid that they could inhibit sleep. The soft elastic wraps on the BTUP are strong enough to hold everything in proper alignment and comfortable enough that it won't keep you up at night. The ProCare ProWedge also earned high marks for comfort, as it can offer all the support of a hard plastic shell while still being forgiving on your skin. The Futuro Sleep Support was removed due to concerns over the durability of its Velcro straps, as being a budget-friendly option isn't enough to justify poor craftsmanship.

After getting his bachelor’s from the University of Texas, Quincy Miller moved out to Los Angeles, where he soon found work as a copywriter and researcher, specializing in health and wellness topics for a major online media brand. Quincy is also knowledgeable about home improvement, as he’s had extensive experience with everything from insulation to power tools to emergency room trips, sometimes in that order. Sharing a home with three dogs and a couple of cats has forced Quincy to learn as much as he can about pet supplies, animal nutrition and, most importantly, the best ways to tackle the mountains of fur that accumulate in every corner of your home.
