While there are always going to be some new companies selling supplements like flax seed oil, they aren't going to be any better than options from reputable names that have been on the market for years, as long as the capsules and oils you choose from established companies are made using the best and most up-to-date processing methods, such as cold pressing for example. Understanding this, we have decided not to make any changes to our current recommendations, which includes both liquid and softgel options, many of which are certified organic.

It's important to note that even though many claim flaxseed oil (and similar supplements rich in "healthy" fats) is good for the cardiovascular system, these products have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration or any other public health agency. Add supplements to your diet only after consulting with a physician.

When it comes to the efficacy of flaxseed oil in supporting health and longevity, scientific research has yielded inconclusive results. Depending on your diet, supplements like flaxseed oil may help you hit nutritional targets so you can feel your best, but it's crucial to pay attention to how your body reacts to any new item introduced into your diet. For example, if you already eat plenty of seafood, nuts, and vegetables, you may already be consuming an adequate amount of omega-3 fatty acids.

Several products have been added to and removed from this list. Sports Research Plant-Based and Now Foods Dietary are new additions, included due to their quality formulations and popularity. By contrast, questions concerning quality led to Nature’s Way EfaGold being removed, and because of availability issues, Puritan’s Pride also got the ax.
