Editor's Notes
August 07, 2019:
When you’re writing on a chalkboard, your store windows, a bistro menu board, labels, and more, a set of liquid chalk can really come in handy as a dust-free, brighter, more versatile alternative to traditional chalk. Our list contains reliable sets that can be used for a multitude of craft purposes, with color selections such as the ever-popular neon, as well as muted earthy colors and old-school all-white.
Joining the selection today is the Positive Art 30-Pack, which might be the only set you’ll need for a while, thanks to its large selection of colors. They work well on any nonporous surface, making them great for window art, restaurant menu boards, food storage jars, and more. They’re easy to wipe off when you’re ready to change the contents. At well under $25, they’re a good value for their price, considering you're getting 30 markers.
Another new addition is the Chalkola Fine & Jumbo, which are set of four all-white markers with tips ranging in sizes from 3 to 15 millimeters thick. For those who prefer simple white writing without all of the bright neon, these might be your best bet. They’re known to write smoothly like a pen, with little effort on your part. Their ease of use has been touted by those who use them for things like writing daily status updates at work.
The Arteza Set of 16 comes on board, with a handy kit that includes 50 labels and 2 sticky stencils, in addition to the markers. Replacement tips are sold separately, so you won’t need to throw them away and buy a whole new set when they run out of ink. Speaking of the tips, they’re well made and will resist fraying under pressure. While the set we included features vibrant neons, they’re also sold in a set of earth tones for those into nature-inspired artwork.
Leaving the list are the Color Wand Reversible, MooMoo Creative, and U.S. Art Supply Chalk Master, due to issues with availability.
