Editor's Notes

August 15, 2019:

Even if you have a file cabinet, there are probably times when you need portable, safe file storage, which is where the security file box comes in. We’ve kept robust fireproof/waterproof models as well as simpler items, so there should be one for most purposes. In the former category, we still like models from popular manufacturers Honeywell and First Alert. It’s important to note, however, that these options (and most that are similar) require a brief airing out every couple of weeks to prevent condensation buildup. This is due to the way they must be constructed, rather than a design flaw that was overlooked. If you don't want to worry about this, you might look at simpler models. We still like the Vaultz Mobile Chest, and we added a smaller option from the same maker, the Vaultz Letter Size. There’s also the Docu Ninja Bag, but it doesn't provide quite the same level of protection as standard, rigid models. If you need something that's compact, light, and portable, though, it's one to consider.
