Editor's Notes

April 08, 2020:

Anyone interested in the solar system today has a diverse selection of toys and games to pick from, from puzzles like the Melissa & Doug Floor Puzzle to cozy plush toys like the Celestial Buddies Moon. Today we added in several fun new choices, like the Learning Resources Shining Stars Projector, which young astronomers will enjoy using to portray realistic photos on the wall using the three included slides. It’s easy for little ones and parents to carry around the house as needed, thanks to its easy-carry handle and sturdy purple stand.

The Learning Resources Giant Magnetic Display, another new addition, consists of pieces that will adhere to a white board, making it great for educators teaching about the solar system. They will also attach to a fridge or any other magnetic surface, so they’re also suitable for any parent of a budding astronomer. If you prefer decals that stick to walls or tiles instead, look to the Decowall Wall Decals, which are easy to remove and reposition as you like, without leaving behind messy residue.

For young kids who would enjoy a simple way to project outer space photos on the wall, we added the Learning Resources Shining Stars Projector, which comes with three discs containing eight images each. It’s lightweight and easy to move around the house, thanks to a carrying handle and a sturdy purple stand.

In this update, we removed the University Games Great Explorations 3-D planet set, which some say doesn’t glow brightly enough for their liking, as well as the 4M Planetarium , which can be rather difficult to assemble. The SmartLab Stars and Planets, which is unavailable at this time, also made its departure from the list.
