Editor's Notes
August 14, 2019:
Buying a new bedsheet set for your California King mattress can be quite an investment, so you want to make sure you go with a deep-pocketed selection that fits well, feels comfortable, and will last for a long time. Our selection includes a variety of materials in plenty of color choices, at a wide range of prices to suit just about any budget.
The Wamsutta Damask Stripe joins our list in this update. This quality set is made to last, thanks to the dense, long fibers of the sheets and cases, which are made from pima cotton grown in California. And they look great too, thanks to their elegant striped pattern that comes in a whole host of colors. They were rated the best luxury cotton sheets in 2019 by Good Housekeeping. While they’re somewhat of an investment, you might not need to buy another set for quite a while. Our editors have personally used this brand and found that a single set can hold up for many years, while other brands of sheets in the household come and go quickly due to tears and pilling.
Another new addition to our selection is the Southshore Fine Living, which are pretty effortless to put on your bed, thanks to the deep pockets and all-around elastic of the fitted sheet, both of which ensure a secure fit. Unlike many other sets, which only come with two pillowcases, this one is equipped with four of them; and they feature the European envelope closure design, which completely hides the edges of the pillows inside. This set is easy to care for, since they come out of the dryer looking fresh every time, without wrinkles. (Let’s face it: No one wants to spend a moment of their time ironing bedclothes.)
Leaving the list today is the LinenSpa 800 Thread Count – a blend that featured the benefits of both polyester and cotton – due to issues with availability.
