Editor's Notes

March 08, 2021:

It wasn’t an exceptionally exciting round of updates as, perhaps unsurprisingly, we were unable to discover any groundbreaking new developments in the moving blanket space, since we last visited it. We did, however, wind up removing the US Cargo Control Multi Mover and Shoulder Dolly Dual-Sided due to availability issues, noting that neither was available at the time of this writing. We were quick to replace theses losses with two new options.

The first was the Wen 272812, which honestly might’ve caught our eye by the simple virtue of not being blue. Its sold in a pack of 12, with double-stitched trim, and its orange-on-black aesthetic is likely to be favored by Halloween enthusiasts; Bengals, Flyers, Giants and Orioles fans; and fashion-forward professional movers who are otherwise inspired to break the blue trend that’s been dominating this category for years.

Our second choice was the uBoxes A0065CA02, which again caught our eye with its stand-out aesthetic, which favors a traditional camouflage pattern in lieu of a solid color. Given its notably high cost, we ranked it low on our list, but still thought it was worth including for the benefit of outdoors enthusiasts who are likely to find uses for it beyond the moving truck.

For further solutions related to the safe and sensible transportation of material goods, we also maintain a list of arm straps for moving, as well as a page dedicated to corrugated boxes.

April 04, 2019:

While most moving blankets kind of look the same and do the same thing without any bells and whistle, we made an effort to distinguish between the various weights and quality options on the market.

The Sure-Max Heavy Duty is ranked first because of their combination of quality stitching and weight at a price that won't break the bank. Only the US Cargo Control Multi Mover is a heavier weight, but it's price is not practical for the average do-it-yourself mover.

After deciding that the pen was mightier than the pliers, Canadian electrical contractor William Rhoda abandoned his career and headed back to college, where he majored in marketing and advertising and won a scholarship along the way to earning a diploma in creative communications. His past career landed him a depth of knowledge in tools and hardware, while his current career schooled him in audio, video and camera equipment. During his leisure time, he’s learned lots about outdoor gear, and years of tiresome backyard maintenance have taught him all about pools and hot tubs. His recreational pursuits include rest, relaxation and revolutionary action, and his roommate’s a hairless cat.
