The 10 Best Digital Photo Frames With Wi-Fi

Updated December 04, 2020 by Brett Dvoretz

This wiki has been updated 18 times since it was first published in August of 2018. With high-quality cameras on nearly every cell phone, it's easy to document and share all the best moments of our lives, but displaying our favorites would require plastering our walls with hundreds, or even thousands, of pictures. Our selection of digital photo frames solves this problem, and they even come with Wi-Fi, so you can send images directly from your mobile device or computer. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. If you'd like to contribute your own research to Ezvid Wiki, please get started by reviewing this introductory video.

Editor's Notes

November 30, 2020:

During this update, we focused on getting rid of models with lackluster displays as much as possible, especially on models with screens that were 10 inches or larger. An example of this is the Pixal Pix-Star. Despite having a 15.6-inch display, its screen resolution was just 1024 x 768, which we felt isn't acceptable in this day and age when you can get models like the Nixplay Ultra, which offers a 2k display, or the 17.3-inch Aluratek AWS17F, which offers full 1080p, for just a little bit more money. And, for roughly 60 percent of the price, you can get the MRQ DGF215, which has a 15-inch display with a 1080p resolution. In addition to having a lower resolution, it doesn't offer any notable features that the above models don't.

We also made some changes because of aesthetic reasons, since not everybody wants a plain black border on their images. This meant adding the Aura Sawyer, which comes in a sleek shale grey or mica white, and the Aura Mason, which looks much more like a traditional picture frame. The Nixplay Iris maintained its spot mainly for aesthetic reasons, even though its screen resolution isn't full HD. However, with just an 8-inch display, we don't feel that matters as much.

Standing apart from all the rest for not just its screen size but also its style and functionality is the Meural Canvas II. If you want to periodically display beautiful artwork along with your favorite photos, it should be your go-to option. It comes in two sizes, the larger of which measures 19 x 29 inches, and, if you pay for the annual subscription, you'll get access to more than 30,000 works of iconic and emerging art to showcase on it.

September 09, 2019:

Standard digital photo frames were cool when they first came out, but constantly have to swap out memory cards and USB sticks, or connect them to your computer to transfer images to their internal memory can get annoying. These Wi-Fi connected models really kick things up a notch and eliminate all those hassles. We've found options with screen sizes ranging from seven to 15 inches, and in a variety of resolutions and frame styles to ensure there would be one to suit every need.

While there are some standard features across these devices, their extras tend to vary widely. If you want one that is capable of automatically syncing with your phone, social media accounts, Dropbox, and Google Photos so you never have to worry about manually uploading pictures again, you'll want to look at the Nixplay Ultra, Nixplay Seed, or Nixplay Iris.

If display resolution is most important to you, then you'll want either the Nixplay Ultra or Aura Digital, both of which feature 2K screens. While on the topic of the Aura Digital, we think users will really like its feature-packed app, which uses facial recognition to organize your photos by who is in them. This allows you to search for a particular friend or family member, and the screen will automatically put together a slide show of images depicting them.

For the tech-challenged individuals out there who don't want to waste time trying to learn how to use an app, we have included the Skylight 916496 and Pixal Pix-Star. These devices have their own dedicated e-mail addresses, so all you have to do is e-mail a photo to them, and it will automatically be added to your existing library and included in your slide show.

He has been a professional chef, a dog trainer, and a travel correspondent for a well-known Southeast Asian guidebook. He also holds a business degree and has spent more time than he cares to admit in boring office jobs.
