Best High-End

Best Inexpensive

This wiki has been updated 10 times since it was first published in February of 2019. The worst part of getting older is seeing all the amazing toys kids have today. If just thinking about it makes you jealous, then by all means skip this list, because the remote control robots shown here are seriously incredible. They can sing, dance, do basic chores, and even fire projectiles, and several are educational, too — but don't worry, your children will be having too much fun to notice. When users buy our independently chosen editorial selections, we may earn commissions to help fund the Wiki. Skip to the best remote control robot on Amazon.

Editor's Notes

February 15, 2019:

The items on this list can be broadly divided into two categories: educational and just-for-fun. Naturally, the ones that encouraged learning were weighted more heavily, especially given the fact that skills in coding and robotics are likely to pay off handsomely in the future. The educational models should still be good for hours of entertainment, however, especially the two Lego models, as they can be endlessly re-engineered.

After getting his bachelor’s from the University of Texas, Quincy Miller moved out to Los Angeles, where he soon found work as a copywriter and researcher, specializing in health and wellness topics for a major online media brand. Quincy is also knowledgeable about home improvement, as he’s had extensive experience with everything from insulation to power tools to emergency room trips, sometimes in that order. Sharing a home with three dogs and a couple of cats has forced Quincy to learn as much as he can about pet supplies, animal nutrition and, most importantly, the best ways to tackle the mountains of fur that accumulate in every corner of your home.
